Bangkok Trip: Family, Friends, and Shopping (Of Course!)
Arrival
Having to juggle with my busy schedule, I rarely have the opportunity to go on a holiday for some quality time and fun with my loved ones. So, I’m really thankful to have been able to take time off recently for a family holiday getaway to Bangkok. It was a 5D4N trip from 21st to 25th April and Hubbz meant for me to fly out on my birthday for the trip. We flew to Bangkok on the B787 – Dreamliner which really set itself apart with its shadeless feature!
After we landed, we checked into our hotel, Novotel Platinum Pratunam . I really love its accessibility to the largest air-conditioned and clean shopping mall, making it really easy for us to frequently head back to our room to change BabyC’s diaper or to let her take a nap without much fuss. It also meant that everything was within close proximity which made it so convenient. We then freshened up in the room before I was directed to Octave as a surprise. Hubbz kept reminding us to leave the hotel at 4PM in a bid to catch the glorious sunset. I was super happy to catch one of the most beautiful sunsets at Octave, and to enjoy the fabulous views as well as the great amenities offered by the hotel. It was also an opportunity to enjoy some new outfits, especially the comfort of my our twinning outfits by JumpEatCry and JOOP Denim Embroidery Off-Shoulder Dress (pictured below), while taking in the view!
Speaking of views, check this slideshow of some of the wonderful skylines:
And of course, we also enjoy some food and an opportunity for relaxed family time.
Out And About
The next day, we visited the Pink Unicorn Cafe in Bangkok.
Then, we spent the rest of the day at Chocolate Ville, where we were charmed by its European picturesque view!
Shopping!
Of course, besides having delectable food, Bangkok is also renown to be a shopping paradise! We loved visiting the Pratunum Market in the wee hours of the morning so as to avoid having to jostle with the crowd. But to our surprise, even in such early hours, it was still pretty crowded! We then ended off with a MB massage to soothe our tired legs from all the shopping! MB massage has their happy hour massage rate at only 200 Baht from noon time to 5 to 6pm.
Naturally, even during the day, the Platinum mall was a joy to shop at always. Air-conditioned and spans across 6 stories , Platinum Mall is the perfect mall for the trendy & old soul. Anyone can shop in the comfort of cool air con in the land of smiles. I also found this Tokidoki x Hello Kitty Tokidoki bag at Central World’s Isetan dept store at 499 baht! ❤
Saychiizu!!!
We also chanced upon the popular Cheese Toast – SayChiizu Hokkaido Cheese Toast outlet at Siam Square! Who knows would be my Franchise food biz with 2 other gfs in 2018. Thankful for loving & supportive girlfriends. Do pop by Singapore Saychiizu at Somerset 313 & Bugis Plus – Sg’s 1st concept store if you’re nearby yeah. Our staff are friendly! 🤗
After You Dessert Cafe is the one place I won’t miss during my visit to Bangkok! The two desserts (Shibuya Toast / Mango shaven ice dessert with mango sticky rice) are my all-time faves! 😋What a delight to share these treads with my buds.
With wonderful family and friend time, as well as plenty time for shopping and dining, Bangkok, you’re definitely The Land of Smiles.
P.S. Head over for more BKK fun here.
